I guess they're sold out at the moment, but seahorse.com appears to raise whitei. AFAIK, all the SHs they sell are true captive bred.

Just to make sure I've got this right...

You did a WC on the 30. The 55 had a low salt level of 1.024. You added 1/2 gallon of WC water from the 30 (at 1.026?) to the 55 so that as it evaporated...

Even with lighting, I don't think I've ever seen anyone recommend specific PAR values for a type of coral. Have you?

Yeah, that would be nice.

I've never taken a pic of what mine looks like when the flow isn't right, but it sounds like you know what I mean.

I'd probably give it at least a week for lighting, but if it's a problem of excessive flow, immediate action may be necessary. If the flow is too strong and the coral is starting to get pulled away...

Thanks. :D

I had forgotten you already had the MJs. That would make them quite a bit cheaper.

Just to be clear, I was talking about the hydors, not the MJs, on the durability issue.

FWIW, here's a pic of my 29 gal SH tank. It's running an AC110, modded into a fuge with the flow turned all the way down, and an AquaC Remora skimmer with pre-filter box, no sump.

Oh, I certainly agree that you wouldn't want to just go with the return you have planned for flow. You need more. How much more, and what kind is the question. :D

MJ1200s run about $20-25 each, no? Plus another $10 each for the Hydors (which I've used and been very disappointed with the durability, BTW)? I've already listed what I feel would be the...

Again, comparing apples to oranges. I don't know where you're getting your info, but the Emperor 400 is rated at 400 gph, while the AC110 is at 500gph. That puts the emperor at closer to 1 MJ12000...

So you're going to accuse me of not having compared the 2, and then say you have a different HOT fuge (powered by rio no less) that may or may not be comparable to the AC110? Nice.

You're welcome...

An aquaclear 110 filter gives good flow in a 29 gal. Their relatively quiet, only have the suction tube actually in the tank, provide a nice diffuse flow and good surface agitation, and can be...

If it's facing away because the stem has drooped, I wouldn't worry about it. You'll only make the acclimation period drag out longer if you keep moving him around during this time, IMO.

2 tsps per gallon is the limit to which it will dissolve. If you are overestimating how much water you have, you are almost certainly getting some undissolved kalk.

All the "experts" I've seen do recommend it. I soak my flake food in it before mixing with tank water and placing in the tank. I also soak the mysis for my seahorses in it.

Is it doing anything?...

It might be safe to drink, assuming your tap water is. It'll be minus whatever the pre-filters take out, and only about 25% higher in whatever the RO membrane is rejecting. The thing I'd be worried...
