Opened up my sea swirl after seeing some rusty color grease on the outlet elbow. The motor and mechanism had the same rusty color grease on it. Is this stuff safe for the tank? What exactly is it?...

Every couple of months and a topic like this comes up. Just buy what you like and can afford. This is a hobby. Wholesalers, retailers, resellers, etc... can sell them at which ever price they want....

Trying picking up some snails and hermit crabs. Same thing happen to me over the holidays. I got some snails and crabs on saturday and the tank is starting to look much better. Good Luck
