Do you have all the bubble baffles installed in the sump ??? Also, giving the skimmer some more time to break in should also result in less microbubbles... If you dont have baffles in the sump...

I just know they sell two different ballasts.... one for 24w/39w HO T5, and one for 54w HO T5..... These are the ones for the 54w HO T5....

I think you have it too deep..... The max water depth should be 10".... I would build a skimmer "stand" of about 2" and get it around the 9" depth mark...

I agree that it's a great deal..... but we plan on going to MH lighting on my sister in laws tank and don't want to worry about scratches. She had them on her 75g tank and they drove her nuts....
