Bad LR!! Sounds stupid but might be your problem. I have ONE piece of LR (about 5lbs) that I bought to add to my LR in the tank and that rock and only that rock has started growing green hair algae....

don't like buffers but I had a better response with kent superdkh as verses seachems reef buffer, and it lasted longer. I also found a big ph difference between using coralife salt verses IO

1-20H and 1-10g
the 20H is my main tank and the 10 is one I started for hospital or coral frags.
the 20 use coralife salt the 10 use...

I wouldn't mess with it for salt water.. get the one that is water proof!! Dropped my digital thermometer in the tank and even after clean and rinse with fresh water it was fried.. instantly!!
