yes they are very good at increasing the flow BUT you must have a very strong pump to begin with, I have a 900gph quiet one 4000 high head for the return i added a penductor and did not notice much...

why, because the 4 to 6 ft of head from the floor to the top of the tank is not that big a deal to pay the extra $$ for pressure rated pump...
