I love mine never have to think about, best purchase for the tank hands down. Only downsides is if it runs dry I have to shake the pump once I refill the resevoir.

I was under the impression that the skimmer does not remove "salt" only the proteins. I geuss it is then replaced the same as evaporated water with RO/DI so it is probably net neutral for salinity....
