I met a few reefers who took out all metal halide bulbs and replace them with array's of VHO tubes. I wonder why that would be necessary.

VHO better results than metal Halide?

Quite a few reefer I met were arguing that VHO tubes gives a better result in terms of SPS colors compare to metal halides.

I fail to see the logic in this argument.

What do you think?

Flame scallop requires tons of natural plankton food to fare well. The condition is almost impossible to achieve without in average system. Most of them just starve to death after a few months.

I think those are pretty common anthias, some call them Orange Anthias, Lyretail Anthias. They relatively easy to keep though could be shy initially. In time they will learn to eat even pallets.
