When I tried putting a tile over my clowns favorite spot they stopped laying for a couple days until they managed to knock the tile over. :rolleyes: I'd just give them time to get used to the discs.

They'll get better at it with time. Mine will pick up snails and drop them on the sand if they get with in 3 inches of the eggs now.

I believe if you see lots of small fast moving male rotifers you know you're about to crash. If you don't see any rotifers at all then it has crashed.

To keep ammonia down just do a water changes...
