I don't know what the overflow/surface skimmer is...
I don't know what the overflow/surface skimmer is like on the nanocube vs the cadlights tanks, but I find that if I keep my tank full enough so that there isn't a lot of splashing as the water runs...

yeah, it makes it hard to get work done sometimes. Instead of taking smoke breaks like other employees do, we take "reef tank" breaks.

Sounds like cutting back on excess nutrients may not fix the problem. while I'm sure the excess nutrients help them to thrive, cutting back on feedings doesn't appear to kill them.
