I have kept haddoni's, lta's, and bta's under 4...

I have kept haddoni's, lta's, and bta's under 4 (yes) 4 T5's. I use a sun or a 3k horticulture bulbs, 1 actinic and 2 blue +'s. Never had a problem except that bta's wander no matter what. Giganteas...

S. Gigantea is the last anemone you want to keep unless you have some experience with the easier anemones. I don't wanna be a preacher, but please read up on them before you purchase your next one....

Unfortunately this is very common with BTA's inparticluar (killed by Ph's). That is one reason I don not keep them, they just wander too much. Sorry to hear about your loss.

It's possible, sure. I have yet to see mine though host it. My saddleback hosted my haddoni's in a few hours :)

Saddleback or clarkii from my experinece. ANY clown MIGHT host an anemone, but haddoni's and saddlebacks are meant for one another.

Smoke = bad IME. It's usally a bacteria infection in the digestive tract of the anemone (happens alot in carpet species). Sometimes it's sperm, BUT most likely a dying anemone. I would take it out...

Finding a healthy one to begin with (tight mouth and no foot damage, sticky). Lots of light and lots of food. Pretty easy IMO to care for a haddoni. IME, just as easy as a BTA.

new clarkii became a meal

I rescued a small bleached carpet (haddoni) back to health, waited about 3 weeks when it became more stickier and more green. I just added a small wc clarkii, and within 10 seconds no more clarkii....

IME carpets tend to wander less, but that is if you give them ideal conditions as outlined in the FAQ. Bta's wander all the time for no reason or for their reason. :D

Percula unfortunately become meals to haddoni's. I lost a pair in 6 hours to one of mine a few years back. Saddlebacks are the natural host, but I prefer clarkii's as they are not as mean IME....

Yes, I run mine about 3-4 inches off the water and I have a bb tank and some corals have still bleached. I just run shorter photo period times (8 hrs).

Saddlebacks are beautiful but IMO, very agressive like maroons and are hard on the anemone. I prefer clarkii or sebae with hadonni. I am trying to get my tamato to host in my species tank.
