Is your tank a 15 gal? I would defnitely go with T5s to avoid heat issues. Make sure to get ones with good quality reflectors (ie: anything other than ebay ;)) I highly recommend IceCap reflectors...

I don't know about that, Ive heard people say that bulb-replacement costs are less with T5s because they last a lot longer. Anywho, I think you would be fine growing SPS with T5s in your tank (or in...

Aslo keep in mind that the test was done w/ 150 watt bulbs, I think a 250 watt MH would match the PAR of T5s, especially at depths over 20 inches. But I agree that on a 7 inch tank t5's are a good...

Not necessarily. Percs and Oscillaris (sp?) do well together, but some types, like Maroons,Tomatos, etc. do better on their own...

no...i'm saying that if you only have one bulb on a 40 gallon tank then it should be at least 250 watts, IMO. This would give you fairly good coverage. You might not be able to keep "light loving"...

If so, I would get a 250 watt 14k. The 250 will give you enough power to light most of your tank, and the 14k will be blue enough...
