I second the use of IO (and even Kent and Coralife). I have used these three brands for years without issue. Kent has reformulated and it now blends more quickly. But IO is my tried and true...

Not from the growing process. Could be stressed. Check tank conditions. Tank should be aged well and thriving before adding coral such as this. Montis are tough though.

I think no matter how you look at it (empirically, conjecturally, or otherwise) a DSB or RDSB has proven it's value as part of a reef tank system. Whether in the tank or remote...it works the same...

I limit the mixing. I have a single LARGE leather in the tank that I will fragment soon. But I have had no issues. High flow tends to mitigate negative effects.

I did much of the same Sk8r recommended...plus...swap out some of my LR and added new sand to my DSB. I made daily (as best I could) water changes with good clean RO/DI or DI can not remember now. ...
