Not necessarily. I've seen some pretty nasty cyano outbreaks in 'softy' tanks due, in part, to high nutrient water. I'd try to get it down as low as possible.

The Fusion is very good stuff; seems a bit more porous than the Timora looks to be. You WILL have to cure it though. Shouldn't be too big of a deal in a brand new tank.

I'd go with the Astreas, some Ceriths, and a few Emeralds and/or Brittle stars if you like. But the best BB clean up crew for my money is a good set of powerheads.
