I don't see why not as their sturdy enough IMO/IME. If you're concerned with cost, they're great!

If you could find a cheap alternative that's wider and taller, then that's even better....

OK, now you made it clear. Yup, the sump water level is way too high. My version is about 29". So, you just might have to raise it in the rubbermaid to get the collection cup above the 24" mark. :)
