Funny that you say Kenya trees are "bulletproof". I can't grow them. Everything else (xenia, mushrooms, leathers, LPS, you name it). I've owned two Kenya trees and they have "melted" within weeks....

IMO any measurable voltage above ground in a tank is dangerous and implies mis-functioning, ungrounded equipment. If you detect such a thing (e.g. with a good multimeter), I recommend unplugging one...
