I have both the 1260&1262 and I don't see a differece in performance. I would go with the 1260. And I love the ehiems. Super quiet.

I have used a lifereef 24 insump before, and it is not really set it and forget it. And I have used many skimmers before, now I am settling on a euroreef. and it skims alot better than the lifereef...

I don't have problem with the skimmer at all, and I prefer ozone over UV. although I have both on my tank. The clarity the ozone gives is a lot better than what UV can do. It does turn your water...
