I'd go with a 250 as well. The cost difference shouldn't be that much between a 150 and 250. And you will have more flexibility as to what coral you can keep.

I was in there last Sunday. He had some nice pink zoos. But yeah it has been looking picked over lately. Seems like all the LFS's I've been visiting lately are picked over.

I just put two #3's on in my 55g. It isn't enough flow IMO. So I just ordered two #4's also. I'm going to see how it does with the four pumps all together. I keep a mostly SPS mixed reef.

I agree. Mine are silent. I'd go with two #3's in your 30g. Or maybe a 3 on one side and a two on the other.

As mentioned you don't need to airate your water with the powerheads. That is useful for mixing/oxygenating new saltwater but that's all I would use...

I would let the tank cycle with live rock before putting anything into it. I have never dumped vodka in my tank and don't plan to start any time soon. So I can't give you advice on that.

My tap water seems to stay constant around 85 tds. Never had an algae problem while I used tap water for over year. I still bought an RO/DI though a few months ago.
