I had one on my 70g it pulled thick brown skimmate, the cup would be full in about three days. I kept it stock and it worked great, no reason to mod it unless you are into that sort of thing.

I have had the MCE300 on my 28g JBJ Nano cube for two months, it is awesome! It pulls out dark skimmate and was pretty easy to dial in. It is probably the best hang on the back skimmer out there.

I would say yes, mine ran at about 86F when the lights were on, got a Current USA 1/15 chiller and now it stays at 78F. If you don't want to buy a chiller go with the 24g Aquapod with the 150watt...
