you can also place the mushroom in a baby food...

you can also place the mushroom in a baby food jar with some rubble. It will attach to the rubble without floating away. Then you can glue the rubble to a rock or use some putty.

best to scrape with a razor blade. Get as close as you can to the rock, even scraping some rock off. If you don't get it all it will start growing again. I have found though with enough pruning it...
