yes, i believe he will kill and eat your shrimp. that's what happened to me. i had two peppermint shrimp in my tank to eat aiptasia but they were both gone after a while.

not sure if you settled on the 55g tank yet but i think if you haven't, a 75 gallon would be better. it has 6 extra inches of width which works much better for aquascaping your live rock and stuff.
