How to mesh mod a Eheim 1260?

I tried a couple rio 1700 on my 8" 29" tall skimmer and they did not work out in the recirc mode. Too much pressure for the pumps to handle with the mesh mod...

I was thinking about the Eheim...

Looking for Air intake silencer

I have my skimmer almost completed but I will need to add silencers to the air intakes of the pumps. Right now it's like having a 18 wheeler in the living room...

I saw some pill bottle silencers...

I'm glad you like it. Make sure to check on it every few hours. It might need to be adjusted up or down. Thake that berlin and bake it in the oven at 400F for about 3 hours. That shuld fix it. lol

You may have some issues with back pressure...

You may have some issues with back pressure because the pump is so low. I would plug the bottom hole and use the other one for the intake...Then point the outlet down with a 45 or 135...

Use 3/8 for the front, back and sides. Use 3/16 for the baffles, dividers and bottom. No need for a brace since you will only fill this thing to 7 to 9" with water...
