Just get a hot magnum and use it as a diatom filter with the micron filter. Works great for me.

The walmart stand is split into two underneeth. Making it hard to make a sump/fug in the tight space.
You can only fit one 10g tank on either side of it.

Rubbed it with some steel wool and presto working agian. No problems since.
I would try this for sure to see if it works for ya.
