Mushrooms can survive under pretty much any water conditions. Not telling you to neglect your husbandry duties, but don't worry too much about killing them by adding too soon.

A lot of the tangs are great for cleaning up hair algae. Yellow tangs are phenomenal, but they also have a nasty streak. I have a Naso Tang in mine and it just loves the algae.

You are only dipping the fish for a minute at a time, the ph shouldn't have an adverse affect. You might have to dip him a few days in a rw to get all the ich though
