Is the 6100 the model or GPH? It also depends on what you are running the water through before it ruturns to the tank. The more things and the higher it goes, the more you loose. I think your fine.

I don't think 90gal is too small for a trigger. I had two in a 55 for years. You have to decide how agressive you want your tank to be. Or pick a fish and build from there.

You can buy an idustrial garbage can at home depot that will work well. they are heavy duty, so you won't have to worry about it busting. Like bhewko said, stick a power head in there and mix it up.
