The Lowes filter comes with 152 Micron (mesh 100). It is Lowes item number 25699. You can also purchase different sized mesh.

I go through padding and filter socks...

It is a FOWLR. Heavy bioload and a lot of feeding. I want to catch excess food and other large detritus. I don't have any filter feeders.

I found a similar filter to the one pictured below at Lowes. Of course my spontaneous purchase button was pushed and I bought two for the plumbing of my system. It seems too good to be true...

I will be modding the skimmer so don't worry about the black acrylic. Just the body of the skimmer itself. I am happy with the height too.
