[welcome]

I would stick with halides and try different bulbs. Or supplement with actinic (VHO or T5). The glitter lines alone make the halides better IMO. :)

You might be able to find a similar sized acrylic tank in the mean time that you could drill, but you would still have to raise it up for it to be effective.

You could always line the container with a water safe liner if worst comes to worst. I bet it wouldn't cost much for a small durable liner and then you could put it into any container.

I agree with sjm817. To be honest I would buy the bulkhead first and measure the outer diameter. It is always better to match the hole to the bulkhead than to try the other way IMO. :D

Not sure. To be honest I have never kept cheato. Maybe a small powerhead in your sump with do the trick? Like a little maxijet or a hydor 1?

Congrats on the purchase. I wasn't trying to knock your choice (actually I didn't know you made the purchase already. :) ). I have always been envious of people that end up with prebuilt units that...

IMO the 10g's are too fragile to drill. You can do it, but I wouldn't be comfortable with it. Any chance of getting a bigger sump? I see a lot of 29g acrylic tanks out there that can easily be...

LOL! I'be been there (but the daughter was asleep before I started working). If you use both bulkheads as drains you should be able to take all the Mag has to give (fully open). You can return...

Well the outside shadowing you cannot really fix with that setup. For a six foot tank, you need six feet of lighting (72 inch VHO, or T'5 staggered, or three halides). I have a 135g (similar...

I think you will find that the halides will generate a lot more heat than your PC's. I have 2x250 halides over my 135g and it will raise the tank temp a degree over six hours even with two four inch...

Glad I could help(?). :D

When I had my AGA90G I had to use both holes for drains simply because the 1 inch drain would not keep up with my Mag9. I ended up downgrading to a smaller return pump in...

Or you could just use the .75" return as a secondary drain and just return over the back with 1.5 inch pipe. Unless you have the tank flush with the wall you have plenty of options for coming over...

Your tank is pretty short for 250w halide(s) so IMO you could run it pretty much from 4 inches (pretty close) all the way up to 12 or more. I would try to keep it less thank 12 so you are not...

What size tank? A T5 setup is more than likely going to be plenty of light for any small size tank (under 100g). I would always go for more light over less assuming the price is not to much higher....
