I would imagine that it could have some long term...

I would imagine that it could have some long term problems with your pump, modern dimmer switches rapidly turn the circuit on and off, so I would not recommend it, anyone else?

i just put my 180 in my basement, works out prefectly because my temp is also constant, no chiller needed. humidity is dealt with by tying my basement into my central air, when the a/c is on it...

I used a reef devil on my 75 for about 1 year, it worked really well with the mag 7. I had the water level just at the riser so the whole riser was foam, it skimmed a dark skimmate, not too wet.

Just picked this up over the weekend from one of my friends, this is about 6" across and it has 4-6" sweepers. I gave it a lot of room.

As long as the ballast is wired correctly, I don't see any harm in it. They are rated for maximum wattage and length, I ran 3 4ft. bulbs on mine and now I am running 2 6ft. bulbs.

my tank runs at 76, not looking to push it warmer then that, I have had very good luck at that temp so far. But the problem is that it is in the low 60's in my basement, so it cools off very quickly.

I've got a mag 18 as a return already. Not sure if others put out more heat or not. My heaters are always on when I look in my tank, but for all I know they go on and off just as I look.
