That's exactly what I'm doing. I have a single 3/4" return drilled through the bottom and will add another 3/4" return through the canopy to the other side of the tank since it's a peninsula design....

It's recommended that you qt everything but a lot of people roll the dice and just throw them in. There is some effort doing a full qt but not as much as having an outbreak in the display tank.

It looks pretty good. Nothing in it right now but looking through it the distortion appears to be concentrated around where you would have traditional seams right where the glass starts the bend.

Roatan Honduras. Can fly right to the island on American or Continental. Just returned from Anthony's Key and it was fantastic. Very reasonable and great waters.
