'PADI certification + Dives' Package Deals...worth it?

anyone got an opinion on those tours that offer package deals which include PADI open water certification plus X number of dives on a liveaboard ship......i've seem some package deals in Cairns...

I am getting a wrasse for my frag system.....luckily for me, my LFS has lots of seagrass wrasses in stock....perfect!

Only question is whether I should go for a fully grown (4" to 5" long)...
