What exactly are you dosing your system with?... it is possible if you have been adding two part solutions or othe alk additives you have put too many ions into the system other than your carbonate...

I was pretty sure even the live rock was cooked.... err froze.... and my tank did go through a little mini-cycle but i was amazed to see this coral pull through...... i guess low temps dont affect...

I have always found that if you add the alk component first then wait about 30 min and add the calcium component you get better results, you have to have the alk base to hold the calcium in solution

Gotcha... i would worry aboutmaintaing Ca try dosing with a calcium gluconate that is easy to keep in solution... bring up your levels slowly, and see what your alk does and you Ca does in a day......

I have to agree.. i doubt the chemipure had anything to do with it as much as the addittion of NEW CARBON...... try this next time when replacing the chemipure use just a mesh bag with maxtrix carbon...
