On mine I'm using a MAG18, a reasonable pump for a decent price. It puts at a guess 1000-1100gph through my 65g sump. it sounds like a lot but I've found that that is a nice rate of flow for my set...

I 've never seen coraline algae that won't come off with an over night soaking in vinegar. I usually do one side at a time by laying the tank down on the side that you want to clean and prop it up...

Before you buy some plexi from HD or Lowes check out the local glass/plastics place. They usually have boxes of scrap that they almost give away and would be the size of stuff that your looking for.

Thats what I did and it worked quite well. I put a light coat of car wax on it and it held up pretty good. I only repolished them once in 3 years. It wasn't as nice as some of the retail reflectors...
