Well I agree with you m friend there is no explanation at all why xenias colonies crash, what I was saying in my previous post was that IF any xenia remains after the crash they may come back....

I don’t think the crash has anything to do with your water parameters.
When xenias crash everything seems to be going OK and then they start melting away. As the crash progresses do a water change...

We propagate different species of xenias and this what we learn from them:
They are very sensitive to flat or low PH (under 8.3)
ALK should be maintain in the high range also (8 -12 dkH)...

Try manual removal during water changes (siphon) or get a 6-line wrasse.
Also adding more flow to your tank helps.

You can cut the xenia with a sharp knife and use bridal netting or rubber band to hold it in place. It should attach in about a week
