If you have a lot of flow then your caps will grow flatter and thicker IME. If your cap is growing thicker then doesn't it make sense that your growth would be slower than a cap that grows quickly...

I have the grape granulosa from Atlantis and it obtains that really nice grape color up high in my tank. (2x250 MH Phoenix + 2 x 110 VHO Superactinic) With less light it obtains a green tint.
