From my understanding they need constant adjusting and they just don't put out the quality of skimate one would expect. Do yourself a favor and do a search on them here in R/C and see what others...

A tip I learned about the shimmer effect take a clip on fan and blow it directly onto the water it creats a more intense and natural ripple effect if you dont like it you can always remove it.
