I've used ghost shrimp (aka feeder shrimp) for my tank and most of my fish and inverts love them to delicious pieces. I don't believe worms , bllod worms, are good for saltwater fish.

I think he is actually describing a filter sponge. They are hairy and spread like a plague. They are not really harmful but spread really fast because of over feeding, or feeding with zooplankton...
