I find mine a bit prone to electrical leaks as they age. Also they don't always start up when plugged in. Also they have a plastic sheath to the impellor magnet that gets chewed up over time...

It varies based upon model. I have a TS1060 which WAS so called because it was based on two Eheim 1060s (obvious really ;) ) now they are powered by 2 Aquabee 2000/1 which is a real shame.
