I know this has been covered already, but I'm just amazed at how few overflow slots there are.

Just my 2¢, but I think you will come to regret that part of your design.

Re: Remind me again why I have a GFCI?

Not to pile on, but if the power goes out and your tank overflows, then you have designed it wrong.

The power will go out sooner or later for whatever reason, your system needs to be designed with...

I have never seen my Gramma attack any of the other fishi in my tank. Of course with a 6 foot, 150 gallon tank there is plenty of space for all the fish. Also, he was a later addition to the tank,...

I've used a mak4 on my ETS protein skimmer 24/7 for the last 5 years with no problems.

If the one I'm using were to die, I would by another one in a hearbeat.

There's my 2¢.

They are at it again

My clown fish have once again laid eggs.

Sad to say, the eggs will soon be food for others in the tank.

You stated the tank would be 96 x 24 x 30.

Here's my 2¢.

Make the tank 96 long, 30 wide, 28-30 tall.

You can't go wrong making the tank wider, there is no downside to that.

It's a huge...

For $150 you can get a GenX/Mak-4.
Mine has run 24/7 for the last 5 years on my protein skimmer with no problems.

If my current GenX ever dies, I will buy another to replace it.

Just my 2¢.

Just a thought.

Isn't that tank a little densely populated?

I count about 40 different corals in what looks to be a 3' area.

Let the flaming begin.

GenX vs Iwaki 55RLT - My story

OK here goes. I had an ETSS 600 powered by a Gen X/Mak4. The pump was in the tank stand,
the skimmer outside behind the TV. I purchased an ETSS 800 and replaced the ETSS 600.
Life was good. Then I...

Just curious, isn't a GenX/mak4 a little under powered for the LR3?

The web site lists an iwaki 55RLT or 70RLT as acceptable pumps.

No way, the GenX is as powerful.

Mr Tubs,

You seem to have forgotten one thing. One day in the Bay Area the ground is going to move
in a way that a plexi tank will withstand better than a glass tank.
