Will upgrading to T5's save you enough money to even make it worth it? $20 a month and it will cost you a few hundred to switch (doubt you will break even selling off the MH's).

I'm looking into the PVC idea as well. It was either that or a wood frame to hold that and my T5's.

They're going over a plywood frag tank so looks really aren't that important right? Ha!

Found at the bottom of a tank. Any ideas on what this is?

I found this at the bottom of my buddies frag tank and have absolutely no idea what it is. Certainly alive as I fed it Mysis and it ate. The tissue does retract but I can't find any skeleton. Also...

Most leathers are super easy to propagate. Colts are about as easy as they come.

Slice an arm off, lay the frag on some rubble or crush coral, glue the rubble/crushed coral to a plug. Done!

What do you guys think about the following diagram for my 80g (was 180g but it was toned down) frag tank? The flow will be over a frag rack. Under the rack there will be a couple smaller powerheads...

Maybe even go with a 6 bulb T5HO fixture? Seem to be the new wave in growing corals without bleaching/recession.

Lighting a 40"x30"x16" coral vat.

I'm having a custom 40"x30"x16" coral vat built for me and I'm wondering if my idea for lighting would work.

My idea is to use two 175w MH's (10k) along with four 39w actinic T5HO bulbs. To start...

Mr. Grim Reefer I have a question for your mind to ponder (not that it will take much to answer).

I have a 96"x30"x12" tank that I want to turn into a frag tank that is mainly SPS. To make it...

Chances are that polyp will die. Just keep a close eye on it. If it does start to die, just cut it off so it doesn't poison anything in the tank and so on.

Factor in shipping from other places and they might become more reasonable.

Big Al's is another place that's got some pretty good deals. I've ordered from them as well.

Shouldn't have to "feed" it anything. It is supported by extra nutrients already in the water from feeding, waste, etc.
