I don't think they sell #3 in Calif. ... I used #4 then # 16. #3 is water thin, #16 is thicker. You don't have to use #16 if the edges are straight and smooth. And yes, you need the syringe with #4.

I gave this a try. Two weeks ago I started dosing vodka (in my tank .. LOL). Nitrates were 80ppm. Now two weeks later they are less than 5ppm. I tried sugar dosing before with no results ......

My thought is, it will overflow if it pumps too much water in. Make sure you have a ball valve in between the pump and the skimmer.

Yeah, I see your point. My tank is about 21" deep, so I need a little more light. I'm sure the electric company agrees with my decision. LOL Though I wish I had the new 36" dual 250 watt MH fixture...

I wouldn't even had considered those lights. They are only 150 watt MH. The Odyssea fixtures are 250 watt MH.
