I have some LEDs I keep on all the time and when the my 150 watt 14k bulb is on, you can't tell the LEDs are even on.

The ATI light has "individual parabolic reflectors" while the TEK-LIGHT has a "9-bend reflector". Basically it's just one piece, bent a few times. You'll get much more light out of the ATI...

I know for a fact that a LFS (no longer in business) was selling water from a water softener as RO/DI water. The TDS was actually higher than the tap water going into the softener.

You can slowly add some to your existing sand. I wouldn't cover more than 1/2 inch deep and I wouldn't mix it, just add on top. If you want to add more, wait a week or so and then add another 1/2....
