If you are going to use wavemaker heed the advice given earlier regarding Korilias and wavemaker. They do not well. Go Tunze or MaxiJet if you are going to use a wavemaker.

They should be placed on either side of the tank. Cross pattern is fine. I placed mine on either side and hooked up a wavemaker. Very nice. Good Luck.
