you won't be able to keep a cuttle or octopus in a 12g. and good luck keeping fish with a mantis in a small tank. mine snaps anything moving as soon as it enters the tank. i'd get a skimmer anyways...

yea harliquins will eat them. but they'll eat alot of them and need to be fed after they've plowed throguh your supply. and only some of the types of small starfish will eat coral, not all.

waiting longer isn't better after a certain point, really the bacteria from the liverock should seed the base rock in less than a month after it cures. bacteria splits pretty fast
