Okay I saw this on here awhile back and it looks like a magfloat but has 3 razor blades set inside at a angle. the outside if iam remember was wood grain looking

Well that depends how new your tank is. how long has this perticular skimmer been running and how heavy your tank is loaded. My is a dark green stinking mess from asm skimmer

even though you keep your top off low in salt it...

even though you keep your top off low in salt it will rise since salt does not evaporate but water does. I would use pure freashwater and a auto top off and your levels should remain the same
