That's too funny.

I'm actually in the process of doing the exact opposite :) Recently, I have been running 4 x 250 watt XM 10k on PFO-HQI ballasts with 4 URI VHO actinics as supplementation, and now I switched to...

Salifert replies for KH/Alk kit problems?

My old Salifert test kit does not agree with my new Salifert test kit which I purchased in September (8.3 dKH versus 10.6 dKH), and I just finished reading that this appears to have been a common...

Greg - The pictures came through, and I'd say that's another vote in support of "Valida". The trick now is to uncover what makes a "Valida" go pure deep purple

Ayep! I think we have a winner. Where did you get yours Jose?
Perhaps a "Valida" as sold in the hobby produces siginificant color variation and sometimes has axial tubular corallites as well.

Yeah, I realize now its all about the lighting in terms of how they look. The second picture above (which I would consider closest to how it looks in "real life") I took with my 10ks on and that...

I lost this colony about a year ago, and the guy I got the frag from lost his tank about a year and a half ago, and none of the folks in my local area have it either. Do you have a purple acro like...

Well after looking over everyone's pictures, I'm thinking what I have is "blue rics" after all. I tried to take some photos today. No where near as what you guys have put up, but atleast everyone...

Thin branch purple acro.

I would like to replace a colony that I lost last year, but suddenly I'm realizing what I had may have been somewhat uncommon. I am fairly certain it was not Acropora Nana or Valida as the growth...

Got Blue Ric PICS? I think I got hosed.

I just spent an enormous amount of money for "blue rics" on a 7x7 piece of LR that are more grey than blue in my opinion, but I'm wondering if my expectations are off. What I am certain of is that...

Steve,

I can only second what everyone else has already said - "nice camera work" and "What a collection!"

1) Are you using a camera box to stick you lens in the water?
2) Do...

Great shots.

Nice camera work, and great corals!

Is that second blue tipped white bodied coral different from the first? It looks a lot like an "Ice Blue Echinata".

Keep it up!

XM 10k 250 watt on a PFO-HQI with VHO actinic.

I'm a HUGE believer in 10k MH bulbs. I don't think they give the most aesthetically pleasing appearance, but I think they are the best for compromising coral growth and color with aesthetic appeal....
