brass fittings for RO/DI water ok?

I know brass/copper/other metallic fittings are not ok to use in our tanks - I'm assuming because of the corrosion that occurs with the salt.
But is it ok for fresh water (DI) used for topoff?

I've broken the ceramic tabs off the end more than once, luckily the bulb still worked.

Make sure when you are calibrating to the 10.0 solution that you are adjusting the correct set screw.
I know this sounds obvious but I just calibrated my probe and I was accidently turning the 7.0...

Buy a power cord (or use an old one laying around) and cut the female end off.
Buy some wire connectors from Radio Shack or other such store and crimp them on the end of the cord....
