On my RS 100 with the foam colapsed the water...

On my RS 100 with the foam colapsed the water level is at about to the base of the collection cup. I get good stinky skimate that is a little wet but dark in color.

From the pics I've seen they seem to flatten and spread out at the surface (no perosnal experience here). Obviously they cannot grow out of the water. MAybe a touch if there is turbulance to keep it...

I guess it depends on the specices. I'm sure some of the big cloanies live forever in a sense. As it builds probably some of the lower polyps die but the higher newer polyps are probably thriving...

I runa 1260 with 1" to a wavy sea (which exits 3/4) and it has good flow force. Perfect for my 50 gal. Blows my fish a little off course but doesn't smash them into rocks or the wall :)
