i had 3's in my 75 then took them out, just not enough flow being pushed. I switched to a rio 2100 and two other rotating head pumps and my flow is awesome now

Have you thought about this being the make up water, that way the salinity will not get out of wack. You can position the float valve so you just have enough left in the sump then it goes on...
