If I were to choose between both, I would go with tunze, but a combo of both is the best way to go.
I have a SS mounted just above a tunze, so the flow outcoming from the SS crashes with the tunzeīs...

Yeah, but usually you wont set the ph that low. Probably 6.5 would be the least, but ARM will dissolve at 7

This works good to me and I set my aquacontroller to turn off the CO2 if the tankīs ph falls below 7.9

I did a whole tank treatment, now I dip every acro I introduce. Usually at a very high concentration for 5 hours but sometimes only for 2 hours more or less.

I would say go with a 1-2" sandbed, the look is more natural and you donīt have the downsides of a DSB, which in my opinion is a time bomb

So I just take it out, rinse it in fresh water and reuse the remaining media along with new media.
