I wouldn't go the inground pool route they're just as expensive and you only use them 3 months out of the year.

I think with the pump mounted like that you will...
I think with the pump mounted like that you will have problems with air bubbles from the pump sucking air.

I've had real good luck with the 2 Via-Aqua...
I've had real good luck with the 2 Via-Aqua titanium heaters that I have,their going on 2 years (knock on wood)These have a external controller.

Try unplugging the pump and plug it back in a...
Try unplugging the pump and plug it back in a couple of times all my mag drives vibrate and this seems to quiet them down.Also a old mouse pad works great.

I would think that the venturi would need to be...

I would open the return to the sump all the way...
I would open the return to the sump all the way and the other red valve all the way and adjust the flow with the black ball valve,you may also consider changing the black valve to a screw type gate...

Good luck catching it,mine was able to hide in less than 1 inch of water when I moved the tank and couldn't be found.He resurfaced 3 days later,they are very cool fish though.
