I second that. If you are going the 175 rout I would skip it and go for the 150 HQI. The 150 actually is a little brighter than the 175. I would go with 2 bulbs.

This same thing happened to me a few weeks ago...

This same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and freaked me out. The clam looked very healthy the whole time so I figured i'd wait and see. It's fine now.

Wait a little while. The reefkeeper elite is coming out and will blow all the other controllers out of the water. I have the reefkeeper 2 and I'm extremely happy with it. Super easy to setup and use.

Not necessarily true. I have had clams thrive in my pervious setups in as little as 2 months after the tank was setup. Once corallin algae started in went the clams. It's all a matter of stability....

I have the deltec mce300 and by far one of the best purchases I've made for my tank. It is very quiet (the remora is not). Deltecs blow away any other HOB skimmers.
